Re: The Saudi prince is buying Newcastle
At first I thought it a bit harsh that the Saudi govt be blamed just cause the pirates are based there. It actually looks like Saudi created it purposely to broadcast Qatar based BEIN sports because of their economic boycott of the country, and the pirate channel is actually broadcast on a Saudi state owned satellite company.

Seeing as it's taking money out of the PL's coffers I can't see how they'd allow this takeover to take place. Fully expect the Geordies to reach Scouse levels of victimhood in the coming months if it don't happen.

What I find hilarious is that you can have murderers, torturers cunts, money launderers etc as club owners, but fuck with tv rights and you have no chance......

The controversial £300m Saudi Arabia-funded takeover of Newcastle United appears to be in serious doubt after the World Trade Organization ruled that the country is behind a pirate satellite TV and streaming service that offers illegal access to sporting events, the Guardian can reveal.

Woud imagine all this speculation of new owners and NEW Manager will be getting Steve Bruces already twisted nose even more out of joint??? hopefully enough to see them distracted and disjointed enough to play shit and in free fall if play resumes this season and they go down.....

Yeah i know be a bit of a strectch as they are on 35 points now, but stranger things have happened...........

I don't know why everybody is getting jelly on this.

It's Newcastle and a little bit like us they have ways of spunking it all up.

Its going to end in tears.

How gutted would you be if you were a Spurs fan...take years to become a contender and when you finally manage it, Chelsea and Man City are at the top bankrolled by billionaires, then few years later Newcastle get the same treatment.

I guess the best they can hope for now is challenging with Arsenal for Europa League places.

That'll be any player that's had a poor first half.

Yes, it does seem to be a test of whether you have the funds to complete the purchase rather than what the title says.

Re: The Saudi prince is buying Newcastle
Newcastle seem to have as much luck as we do in recent years, relegations, financial mess, unpopular owners, missed opportunitys and general bad luck.

The signs aint good, but TBH glad its not us being taken over by this Saudi lot despite there deep pockets.

Take it he has passed the Fit & Proper Persons Test.

Not quite sure WHAT you have to do to fail that.
Guess the bar was set pretty low when Abramovich got the ok.
Chopping up ONE person is obviously small beer

Always hated newcastle. Their fans spat at me when I was a kid when the police walked their fans to the station and I was coming out of the shop opposite the main gates of the ground.

Spitting is a sub human thing to do. Doing at a kid when backed up by anonymity of a crowd is pathetic.

Always hated ant (drink driving twat) and dec too.

Where have you been the last 30 years, gary? Other than the odd exception, you can pretty much work out the top 4 before the season starts. And it'll be the richer teams.
